Driver App Privacy Notice & Consent
Last Updated: August 28, 2026 · Version 1.0
Global Driver App Privacy Notice & Consent. Applies to drivers and other individuals using the Wowmotive Driver App on behalf of a Customer organisation.
2. Who Controls the Data
For most employer/fleet-management processing, the Customer organisation determines why and how driver information is processed and therefore generally acts as Controller. Wowmotive generally acts as Processor. Employment, driver-monitoring and fleet-policy questions should be directed to the Customer organisation.
3. Information Collected
- Name and contact information.
- Account and login information.
- Driver licence, Emirates ID, passport and related identification information where required by Customer.
- Vehicle and assignment information.
- GPS/location information where enabled.
- Trip, route, mileage, job and operational data.
- Device, IP, application and diagnostic information.
- Photos/documents submitted through the App where enabled.
- Voice messages and other audio submitted through in-app chat communications where enabled.
- Invoicing, payroll, and driver-wallet ledger records where enabled (earnings, balances, and payment status tracked internally; Wowmotive does not collect or store your bank account or card numbers and does not itself process, hold, or transmit funds through this feature).
4. Why Information Is Used
Driver identification and account management; fleet and driver operations; dispatch, trip, route and vehicle management; safety and operational monitoring; GPS/location tracking where enabled; reporting, compliance and recordkeeping; security, fraud prevention and troubleshooting; Customer communications and support; and compliance with applicable legal obligations.
5. GPS / Location Tracking Disclosure
When location functionality is enabled by the Customer, the App may collect precise or approximate GPS/location information from the device and transmit it to the Wowmotive platform. The default location mode is active-trip/on-duty tracking. Customer may configure an always-on location mode where supported; continuous 24/7 tracking is not the default configuration. The Customer is solely responsible for configuring tracking consistently with the purposes communicated to drivers and for establishing the applicable lawful basis for driver monitoring.
6. Consent and Acknowledgement
Where consent is the applicable lawful basis, the App will present a separate, specific and unambiguous consent request using a clear affirmative action. Where processing is based on another lawful basis, the App will present a clear notice rather than mischaracterising it as consent.
7. International Processing
Wowmotive is U.S.-based. Personal Data collected through the App may be stored, accessed or processed in the United States and other countries. Authorized Wowmotive personnel and contractors, including those located outside the UAE, may access Personal Data as necessary to provide, secure, support, maintain, or troubleshoot the Services.
8. Third-Party Services and Device Permissions
The App may use or facilitate third-party mapping, cloud, communications, analytics or other services governed by their own terms. Depending on enabled features, the App may request permissions for location, camera, photos/files, notifications, or microphone. Identity documents uploaded through the Services are stored in Google Cloud Storage in the United States multi-region.
9. Who May See Location / Driver Data
Location and other driver information may be accessible through the Customer’s Wowmotive Dashboard to authorised Customer administrators, fleet managers, dispatch personnel and other Customer users with appropriate permissions.
10. Retention
Data is retained in accordance with Wowmotive’s internal retention schedule (available upon request), Customer-configured retention settings, and Applicable Law, and is not kept longer than necessary for the purposes described in this Notice. Customer may configure different retention periods consistent with its own legal obligations.
11. Rights
Depending on applicable law and processing context, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of your Personal Data. Requests should normally be directed to the Customer organisation as Controller, or through the Wowmotive privacy contact below.
12. Security
Wowmotive uses commercially reasonable efforts to maintain technical and organisational security measures appropriate to the risks of processing.
13. How to Contact Us
Privacy contact: admin@wowmotive.com. Public Privacy Policy: https://www.wowmotive.com/legal/privacy/privacy-policy.
14. In-App Acceptance
The App may record the notice version, acknowledgement/consent status, and timestamp to evidence the privacy interaction.
- I acknowledge that I have read and understood the Wowmotive Driver Privacy Notice.
- I understand that GPS/location tracking may be enabled by my employer/fleet operator and may be visible to authorised Customer users.
- I understand that Personal Data may be processed outside the UAE by Wowmotive and authorised service providers where permitted by applicable law.
15. Changes to this Notice
Wowmotive may modify, update, or replace this document at any time, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, effective immediately upon posting the updated version. Where a change is legally required to be separately notified or consented to, Wowmotive will provide the additional notice required by Applicable Law.
